Hello, This is Ken Kenworthy, Superintendent for Okeechobee County Schools with an update.

As you know, our primary method of continuing instruction during the next couple of weeks is through distance learning. If you do not have a computer or device at home, we will be distributing Chromebooks at your school site Wednesday and Thursday of this week between the hours of 11 to 1 and 3 to 6. If you do not have access to WiFi, please contact, your school.

The district has posted on its website a Family Guide for At-Home Learning Plan to continue instruction through April 15. This work is mandatory and not optional. Grades will be taken and applied toward the 4th quarter grades. There are lots of resources out there, but grades will only be issued on work assigned by the teacher and not any other resource.

Please keep in mind, Seminole Elementary School begins instruction on Thursday, March 26th and all other schools begin on Monday, March 30th. Don't be worried if your child's teacher has not contacted you yet. They are working on their plans this week. Please be patient and understand this is new work for him/her as well.
